Grand Mufti of Egypt stresses conscious reflection in Quran memorization

Egypt’s Grand Mufti, Nazir Mohamed Ayyad, urged Quran memorizers to reflect deeply on the verses rather than merely repeating them.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Grand Mufti of Egypt, Nazir Mohamed Ayyad, emphasized that Quran memorization should go beyond simple repetition and review, urging a conscious effort to reflect on the meaning of the verses.

Speaking at a ceremony in Al-Sharqia Governorate to honor Quran memorizers, he stressed the importance of acting upon the teachings of the Holy Book to achieve personal elevation and contribute to societal purification, especially in challenging times that require moral and spiritual guidance.

Ayyad highlighted that one of the Quran’s fundamental principles is the preservation of family through justice and mercy, further emphasizing the importance of treating parents with kindness, as strongly advocated in Islam.

He warned against moral and intellectual decline, describing Quranic adherence as the best safeguard for spiritual and social security. He underscored that true Quran memorizers are those who use it as a guide in their actions and speech.

The event, attended by local officials and community representatives, concluded with the Grand Mufti and the governor of Al-Sharqia honoring the Quran memorizers with certificates and gifts.
